end of an era

So I have decided to go all the way with the podcast idea.  I’m in the process of creating a new show called:  Six Feet From The Edge.  It’s a show about growing old, trying to make the ends meet, and dealing with the absurdities of life.

I spent a couple of hours today with Emma.  We recorded a segment called Putting the ‘A’ Back In My Game.  I say two hours, but it didn’t take us 2 hours to record the segment.  We spent most of the time catching up with each other’s comings and goings and our various creative endeavors.  The actual segment is about 15 minutes long un-edited.  I also recorded a special surprise segment that I don’t want to give away any details of just yet.  The entire show will probably run in the neighborhood of 45 minutes to an hour, tops.  I want to make sure I put together a quality show so this first one might take a little longer to produce.  I’m aiming to have the recording done by close of play Sunday, and then take a couple of days next week to edit the show.  Then I’ll have to turn my attention to finding an appropriate place to host the show.  Podbean seems to be the choice at the moment, but I’m just about to check out podcast alley.  I have an idea for a logo, but I’m sure it will evolve over time.  I also want to get the email account, Facebook page and Twitter account set up specifically for the show in anticipation of your overwhelming support of my latest venture. 🙂

I’m down in Bristol now.  It’s Ruth’s brother Gary’s 40th birthday and we’ve been summoned down to help him celebrate it.  I’m planning to do some recording while I’m down here – possibly a segment with Angus if we can get the timings right.

I heard today that many of the interim peeps I’ve been working with over the last 7 months have finally been told that their services are no longer required as of next Friday.  Some people took the news harder than others especially as the job market doesn’t seem to be that robust at the moment. I caught wind of  a plot to have a big party next Friday to celebrate the comings and goings of my fellow comrades.  It’ll be an end of an era.

Alright, I can hear the sandman calling me.  I better sign off now and get myself some sleep (it turns out, I was so sleepy that I didn’t post this last night for fear of the posting this with loads of typos and errors).

Ciao,
Clay
